Note:  H2 v1.5 turbo does not yet support the remote function.   If you need remote capability use v1.3 which is boxed up in the H2 folder when you buy your H2.

Remote Control

The purpose of the Remote Control is to allow a non-H2 owner to control an avatar which is wearing an H2.   The most common use is for a live artist to stream the live performance while a friend controls his avatar's H2.  It works like this:

The performer must own H2.
The friend must must have the remote.
The performer passes some configuration information to the friend which is used to make the remote appear identical to the performer's H2.
The performing avatar wears the H2.
The friend wears the remote and controls the performer.

Who Needs To Buy The Remote?

Person that does NOT own H2 but needs to control animations of someone that DOES own H2.
The H2 owner does NOT need to buy the Remote.  As of v1.1 the remote in included in the H2 package and can by used by the H2 owner if they need to remote control a different H2 user.

How To Setup The Remote (the performer)

For fun, let's call the two parties "performer" and "friend".   The performer is wearing an H2 HUD.  The friend needs to control the performer remotely.
The friend needs the H2 Remote.  These are available in the OD Designs Gallery next to the H2 demo area.
The performer needs to set a control word for his H2.  This is like a password.   While doing this, wear only ONE H2 at a time.   While wearing a single H2 HUD, in chat type  /100 my_password   and press ENTER.  my_password could be any unique password you want to use, for example:

    /100 orthos_main_hud
Performer:  remember...only wear ONE H2 when setting passwords.   You do NOT want to have more than one H2 HUD with the same password.  If you want the friend to have access to more than one H2 worn by your avatar ... wear them one at a time and set the passwords separately for each one.   Do no use the same password for more multiple H2 HUDs.
NOTE:  If you RESET your HUD you need to re-teach the password.

Standard HUD configurations (the friend)

If you are using the standard out-of-the-box HUDs have the friend choose the corresponding remote.
in chat type  /100 my_password   and press ENTER.  my_password must be the same password that the performer set into their HUD, for example:

    /100 orthos_main_hud

DONE.   The remote will now control the performer's H2.

Customized HUD configurations (the friend)

If the performer's H2 has a customized _config notecard this section is for you.

The performer needs to give a copy of the HUD's _config notecard to the friend.  Right click the HUD, EDIT.  Look it the HUD's contents.  There is a _config notecard.  Drag this notecard to your inventory and give it to your friend.  This contains the button layout of your HUD and will make the friend's remote look just like your HUD even if you have customized your HUD and altered its button layout.
Friend.
Make a copy of your remote. Choose one and rename it to something meaningful
Wear it.  Right click and delete the _config notecard from the contents.  Drop in the _config notecard from the performer's HUD
Click the OD logo and choose RESET from the menu.  (If the HUD is minimized the OD Logo won't give you a menu).
When the Remote is finished resetting the buttons will look the same as the performer's H2.
in chat type  /100 my_password   and press ENTER.  my_password must be the same password that the performer set into their HUD, for example:

    /100 orthos_main_hud
NOTE:  If you RESET your HUD you need to re-teach the password.
Done.   The friend's remote will now control the performer's H2.
Repeat as needed.  If the performer wears 2 H2's use the same process (with a different password) for the second HUD.
DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD CARELESSLY.  Anyone that owns an H2 remote and knows your password can trigger behaviors on your H2 even if they don't have your _config notecard.  If someone is not your friend any more.... change your H2 password.

ROCK ON
